Dear colleagues,
Thank you to everyone who joined our recent teacher training workshop “Building Bridges in EFL Teaching: From Preschool to Secondary.” For those who couldn’t attend, here’s a short summary of what we explored — and how you can still join the conversation.
Highlights from the Workshop
-
Shared Principles: Across preschool, primary, and secondary levels, learners need comprehensible input, meaningful opportunities for output, and a motivating, supportive environment.
-
Strategies in Action:
-
Preschool – songs, movement, play-based routines to build confidence and joy in English.
-
Primary – games, projects, and story-based learning to support literacy and vocabulary.
-
Secondary – debates, authentic texts, technology, and communicative tasks to build fluency, accuracy, and critical thinking.
-
-
Bridge-Building: We discussed how each level can “pass the baton” to the next, ensuring continuity in skills like vocabulary, literacy, and learning strategies.
-
Community Tools: We now have multiple spaces to share ideas and resources — the blog, our Facebook group, and our new Padlet.
Why This Matters
By recognizing the continuum of language development, we can better prepare our learners for the next stage and strengthen the bridge between preschool, primary, and secondary teaching.
